... I think everyone on my flist loves animals, and has at least one that we consider a beloved companion, if not a member of your family. The northwest seems to be a particularly bad place for this sort of thing, including a lot of bogus horse rescues.

You don't have to watch the whole thing to sign (nightmare fodder), click on the link when it comes up. I know this is good for anywhere in the US, but I also noticed a spot for 'province' listed, so maybe my friends in Canada can make a difference in the Great White North.

Ah, yes, Heidi Erickson. I remember reading all about her. Fucking loony.

The pigfucker before her on the video, the one who tortured Misty, made me scream out loud. I fast-forwarded the video after Erickson because I didn't want to see what else was there.

I signed the petition. (Though I did Google on the ALDF first to make sure they weren't akin to PETA. I'm all about animal welfare, not "rights.")

Oh, dear GOD! I couldn't watch it after the first victim--cutting off a cat's paws! It literally turned my stomach! I signed.

dont get me wrong, I think that the penalties for animal abuse (whether willful or hoarding or the many people who cant help themselves and get overextended as happens with horses) should be way stronger (and maybe even combined with mandatory parole FOREVER)....but how does a registry keep it from happening?
