I normally don't post this stuff, but

... I think everyone on my flist loves animals, and has at least one that we consider a beloved companion, if not a member of your family. The northwest seems to be a particularly bad place for this sort of thing, including a lot of bogus horse rescues.

You don't have to watch the whole thing to sign (nightmare fodder), click on the link when it comes up. I know this is good for anywhere in the US, but I also noticed a spot for 'province' listed, so maybe my friends in Canada can make a difference in the Great White North.

dont get me wrong, I think that the penalties for animal abuse (whether willful or hoarding or the many people who cant help themselves and get overextended as happens with horses) should be way stronger (and maybe even combined with mandatory parole FOREVER)....but how does a registry keep it from happening?
