I've noticed that I've kept most things pretty well locked down. The more I think of it, the better this idea sounds.

However, I do know that people sometimes stop by looking for period clothing stuff or more of my wonderful bon mots ::cough:: and they see no recent entries. I've run into this myself in other places, and feel the frustration.

So. Comment if you want to be added. Please introduce yourself or remind me where/when/how we ran into each other. I am terrible at remembering this stuff, and between LJ, SCA and real life, that's a minimum of three names. I'm pretty good about adding people. If you're already on my friends list, you do not need to comment, you're already in the club. Thanks, and welcome. We have tea and cookies!

I believe we met a very, very long time ago (10 years or more?) when I as trying to find some steel boning for a corset I was having made. Are you she? You were making boxer shorts for a gentleman friend, and you had a cat with many toes and lived in a Victorian duplex?

If I am incorrect, forgive me. If it is you, I would love to become reacquainted in some fashion. Especially as you were the one who inspired me to learn corsetry.

Cheers!

Good grief, that WAS a long time ago! I'm amazed that you remember all of that! The duplex has been succeeded by a 100 year old Craftsman in NE Portland, and dear Walter Mitten went to his reward just this past February - but the new old place has it's own lively cast of cats. You'll forgive me for not being able to picture your face immediately - I'm terrible with that - but I'm very flattered that you remember me so kindly. Thank you, and welcome to my lj - I'm actually trying to put some actual costuming content on it these days ::eyeroll::

(And those boxers - did they have ants all over them? Unfortunately, the recipient eventually decided he was insufficiently impressed with either me, my tailoring skills, or having to slog up here from UCSD. Too bad for him, eh?)

They had ants all over them! Too bad for him, indeed!

I do very much remember you. The major thing that I remembered was that you offered to teach me how to make corsetry. When I decided, five or more years later, to make my own corset, I did look for you but I was unsuccessful. I eventually figured it out myself and now I make corsets for other people! I am still not very good at tudor and elizabethan corsets, but I've only made one or two.

To describe myself- I showed up with my then boyfriend, now husband. I was short and fat, probably dressed in frightful clothing and with really bad frizzy hair and huge glasses. :P

I'm so stoked to find you through Laura (farmleaf), as she is a good friend of mine. :):)
